Travel with an educational agency |
Educational agencies for studies abroad
GEOS English Language Colleges have certainly developed an enviable
reputation for providing students with a wonderful cultural experience
whilst at the same time ensuring that their educational goals are achieved.
GEOS Colleges offer an extensive range of long and part-time courses. In
fact, whatever a student's English needs are, they will be met- whether it
be the Cambridge Examinations, IELTS or TOEFL preparation.
Benefits of Study Abroad
We know that
study abroad
dates back thousands of years to the very cradle
of civilization when students journeyed long distances to study as
apprentices under the most skilled and renown craftsmen. As travel became
cheaper, faster and safer, so to did the number of students, and the lengths
they travelled to gain knowledge.
There are many benefits of studying abroad including personal growth,
education and career advancement, intercultural development, enhanced
interest in academic study and more commitment to foreign language study,
and opening up interests in new career directions.
Studying abroad can serve as a catalyst for increased maturity, increased
self-confidence, tolerance for ambiguity, and changes in world view.
Students can also expect to bolster their self-reliance during their study
abroad program, with the amount of improvement related to the degree of
language mastery they hold over the local tongue.
Study abroad educators often assert that one of the goals of study abroad is
to train future global leaders to be more effective, respectful of other
cultures and political and economic systems, and willing to take a stand for
the world's welfare, not just what benefits a specific country.
The classroom teaching style will be different, so the student is forced to
develop their ability to learn. The lifestyle and social rhythms within the
walls of the university or educational center will be different, forcing the
student to expand their social skills in order to get assistance from
tutors, teachers' assistants, school staff, classmates, as well as to make
friends among their peers.
Choosing an educational agency
While using an agent is a great way to organise travel and study details,
you should also do some research of your own into the country, city, your
course of study and the school. You may also consider trying to get the
agents promises in writing if a dispute arises at a later date. Agents that
belong to a national association that sets standards for their practices are
more likely to be reliable.
Sensible agents realize that it is their best interests that you, as their
customer are happy as so much of their business comes from word of mouth
referrals. Happy students refer friends and acquaintances and the agencies
business slowly grows. In general, you could expect that agencies that have
been around for a longer period of time would offer a quality service while
new agents you would be more cautious about.
Questions to ask include: What services does the agency offer? What is the
average class size at the school? How many students of your nationality are
currently at the school? What is the accommodation like? Where is the school
located? What Part-time work options are available and how do you apply for
permission to work under your visa? What is the agent willing to do if you
encounter an emergency overseas? What are the school or agency policies if
you wish to change your accommodation? What refund and cancellation policies
do the school and agency have?

All Study Abroad | Study Abroad Programs
http://www.allstudyabroad.com/ All Study Abroad Programs worldwide. Find study abroad listings and language schools
We started All Study Abroad because we noticed that previously wonderful study abroad directories like studyabroad.com and goabroad.com had grown bloated and were complicated to use. We feel that some sites are trying to provide as much information as possible while others have invented more ways to display the same programs so they can collect more fees from the program providers. Regardless of the reasons, many sites are just too confusing and end up wasting your time.
Our goal is to make it easy for you to quickly find the contact information for relevant program providers. With that in mind, we have purposely kept things simple. For instance, we only have four program types rather than the many listed on some other study abroad sites.
In addition, we have created a "My Ideas" section so you never need a pen and paper. As you search, you add different programs to your own "My Ideas" area. Need to sign off, your ideas are saved until you return.

Studying Abroad - Great Gap Years
http://www.greatgapyears.co.uk/ Studying abroad is a gap year option to which any student should give serious consideration. Not only does studying abroad allow students to take classes and courses which may not be available at home, but these courses can lead to external qualifications, count toward degree programmes, and offer students a chance to work with experts in their chosen fields. Prospective employers look fondly on students with the initiative to successfully complete study abroad programmes, and a little extra education has never hurt anyone. Still not convinced that studying abroad is a great way to spend a gap year? Just consider all of the new student centres to explore!
Why Explore a Study Abroad Programme? Study abroad programmes exist to offer students the opportunity to explore a new culture via its educational system. Whether you choose to stay for a few weeks, a few months, or even a few years, studying abroad offers an insight into local cultures that can never be fully understood by tourists.
